The City of Newton would like to remind citizens the following city offices are in the 2025 Consolidated Primary Election, February 25, 2025:
- Mayor – 4 Year Term
- City Clerk – 4 Year Term
- 1 Alderman Ward #1 – 4 Year Term
- 1 Alderman Ward #2 – 4 Year Term
- 1 Alderman Ward #3 – 4 Year Term
NOTE: If the offices are uncontested there will be no Primary Election. The candidates will be voted into office at the Consolidated Election on April 1, 2025.
2025 Consolidated Election April 1, 2025
- 3 Zoning Board Members – 4 Year Term
Primary Petitions can be filed Monday through Friday beginning October 21 – October 28, 2024 between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Independent candidate petitions are filed from November 12 – November 18, 2024. All filings will take place at the front counter in the Office of the City Clerk, Newton City Hall, 108 N. Van Buren St., Newton, Illinois. All the forms to file for candidacy are in the “2025 Candidate’s Guide” available on the State Board of Elections web site, www.elections.il.gov.
