Welcome to the Jasper County Treasurer’s Office
Illinois State Statutes require the County Collector to hold an annual tax sale for any unpaid taxes. The annual sale is held each year after the final due date(s) and after all notifications have been mailed and posted.
The annual tax sale is held in the County Board Room located at 204 W Washington St, Newton, IL, and conducted by the Jasper County Trustee, Joseph E. Meyer & Associates, Inc.
Registration & Payment Information
All tax buyers are required to complete a registration form in writing, provide a completed form W-9, and remit the registration fee of $150.00 made payable to the Jasper County Treasurer. Tax buyers also have the option to purchase a judgement book for $100.00 made payable to the Jasper County Treasurer. All forms and payments must be remitted to the Jasper County Treasurer after the sale date has been determined but at least 10 days prior to sale date. If a registered tax buyer attends the sale and attempts to purchase taxes, the registration fee is returned to them. If a registered tax buyer does not attend the sale or attends but does not attempt to buy any taxes, the registration fee is forfeited to the County. All participating tax buyers must sign in prior to the beginning of the sale at the sale location on the date of the sale.
