Function

The Jasper County Public Health Department is directed by the Jasper County Board of Health consisting of eleven members, appointed by the County Executive [County Board Chair] to three-year, staggered terms. The Board is responsible for disease control, and the physical and environmental health of County residents.

Mission Statement

The Board of Health’s primary responsibility is to establish those purposes, programs, and procedures which will best prevent disease and promote health among Jasper County residents. The Board is charged with accomplishing this while also being responsible for the management of resources available to the Jasper County Health Department.
