Job Description:

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants to join our Part-Time 911 Telecommunicator team. The dispatch center for the County of Jasper handles emergency and non-emergency calls for law enforcement, fire, and EMS. Telecommunicators are also responsible for answering and processing non-emergency and 911 emergency calls, gathering information to provide to the correct department, documenting and maintaining data, and using multiple computerized radio/computer programs.

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • The ability to multitask.
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.
  • The desire to help others.
  • Must be able to work: days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Keyboarding skills.
  • Communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass background check.
