Marriage Certificates

A marriage license is filed with the Clerk after the marriage ceremony takes place. After that occurs, the Clerk’s office can issue you a certified copy of your marriage certificate upon request. Marriage certificates are not automatically sent to couples.

If the marriage took place more than 75 years ago, anyone can obtain a complete copy of the certificate. If it is less than 75 years old only the bride(s) and/or groom(s) may obtain a complete copy. Only the front side would be available to the public.

The Jasper County Clerk has marriage certificates for those who married in Jasper County from 1835 to present.
