Solid Waste

Dumpsters are available to Jasper County Residents ONLY for disposal of trash/solid waste. The posted restricted items are appliances, yard waste, tires, asbestos materials, electronic items (televisions, monitors, printers, cable receivers, stereo equipment, electronic keyboards, facsimile machines, scanners, satellite receivers, speakers, video game consoles, electronic mice, small scale servers, computers, digital converter boxes, videocassette recorders, portable digital music players, digital video disc recorders & players).

• If a dumpster if filled before 10:30am, another dumpster will be brought to the site.
• These sites will be open until noon or whenever a dumpster is filled after 10:30am.

Metal recycling is available only at the Highway Department on Saturdays 7:00am – 1:30pm. Metal items, including appliances which are recyclable, are to be placed in the dumpster labeled “Metal Only”. Appliances that contain freon (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.) must have the compressor removed or the freon line opened to show the freon has been properly removed. Appliances will not be allowed in any other dumpsters at the Highway Department, Township Locations, or in Rental Dumpsters.

To help with the disposal of the electronic items that are not permitted for disposal in the Solid Waste Service dumpsters, an electronic recycling collection is held at the Highway Department twice a year. The dates on which these events are held are typically the last Saturdays in March and August from 7:00am – 1:30pm. When there is a conflict with this day landing on either Easter or Labor Day Holiday weekends, the date will be moved to the previous Saturday at the same scheduled time. There will be one semi-trailer provided for each of these events for hauling away the electronic items. If the trailer becomes filled, the electronic recycling event will be ended at that time in advance of the scheduled 1:30pm closing time and no additional items will be taken.

Dumpsters are available for rent from April – November at the current rate of $650 per dumpster. Additional charges based on landfill rates will be applied for dumpster waste weighing over 8 tons. Dumpsters are approximately 26 cubic yard dumpsters (7.5 feet wide, 4.25 feet tall, 22 feet long).
